Upoc SMS commands work when you send a special "keyword" to Upoc's shortcode, 8762. 8762 spells Upoc on your phone's numberpad, and this code works with the following carriers:
Verizon Wireless
AT&T
T-Mobile
Alltel
Virgin
Bell Mobility (use 48762)
Some commands can also be sent directly to a group or individual.
Sprint users should visit the main website for instructions on using the service.
The Dot
Now, to make it possible for us to create many more useful commands, all SMS Commands on Upoc begin with a dot (".") - so you'll send ".Info" or ".Who" instead of "Info" or "Who." This allows us to expand the dictionary of SMS commands to serve you better.
.WHO Send the word ".WHO" plus two or more of the following to your main shortcode to find members:
M or F (for males or females)
Age range (e.g., 24-36)
State/Province two-letter code
Interests example: So if you wanted to find a woman aged 18-24 in Michigan who's into skiing, you'd send ".WHO F 18-24 MI skiing" to 8762.
.FIND Returns a list of groups whose name or description matches the keyword you enter. example: So if you were a Detroit Pistons fan, you could send ".FIND Pistons" to 8762.
.INFO handle get the member profile of the handle entered. example: Send ".INFO" and a group or member handle to 8762 for more info about them. So sending ".INFO ted337" to 8762 would have ted337's profile sent to you. .INFO group-handle When you get an invitation to join a group, now you can reply ".INFO" to get the group description. example: You receive an invite on your phone for a friend's group, so reply to it with the command .INFO and the group description is sent to you.
.JOIN Joins or requests to join the group or channel whose handle you enter. example: if you wanted to join a group whose handle is "NYC-Chat," you'd simply send .JOIN NYC-Chat to 8762.
.QUIT group-handle: Send ".QUIT" with the group handle to 8762 to quit the group or channel whose handle you enter. .QUIT: if you reply to a group or channel message directly with ".QUIT" there is no need to enter the handle. example: So to quit NYC-Chat, send ".QUIT NYC-Chat" to 8762.
Or, if you have a message from the group you want to quit, you can just reply to it with ".QUIT"
.OFF Turn Upoc message delivery OFF. You can also send ".OFF" to a group to turn messaging off for that specific group. example: To turn all Upoc messaging off, just send ".OFF" to 8762.

.BLOCK reply to a member you don't want to get any more messages from with ".BLOCK" and they'll be out of your hair forever. .BLOCK handle send the command ".BLOCK" and the handle of the member you want to block to 8762. example: Ted337 just won't leave you alone, so you reply to him with ".BLOCK" and you'll never get messages from him again.
Or you can send ".BLOCK TED337" to 8762
